So...my mom won't let me get a Facebook. LOL, I know. Laugh alllll youuu want! It may seem stupid, but I really want one. Not so I can talk to random people I don't know or get stalked or cuss or whatever. So that I can actually add the friends that I really want to talk to.
Believe it or not, I don't have everyone's phone number!!! I can't just call up some people when I really need to talk to them.

I really don't know what the problem is. I mean, I'm obviously safe online...right, right yeah, guys? I would keep my profile settings at the highest privacy setting. Only add my friends and family, including my mom. For all I care, she could log into my account every week and check whatever innocent messages I send or status's I update.

If you have a Facebook account, or anything really, that took some convincing to get, PLEASE tell me your secret in how you got it. Or any advice or shtuffs

can i ask why you want a facebook, for starters? like, i dont have one, but from what ive seen on the internet, it's just a bunch of people being dramatic.

and there's a lot of privacy poop that happens on facebook, y'know? there's a *crap ton* of hackers on facebook. like a lot. someone even hacked the creator of facebook's page. and im sure you know what happens after someone gets a hold of your password. even if you have it on the privacy setting---there's scary people out there.

if you really want one, tell your mom and dad that they can friend you and watch your page. give them your password ( i know i know---kinda embarrassing giving them a password but....). i guess giving them your password and allowing them to friend you kinda shows that "ya so i have nothing to hide."

dont keep bugging them about it, or they'll just tell you no 100%. ask once or twice a week.

do you not have a phone? if not, maybe try asking them for a phone instead of a facebook. if you have a phone, just casually ask your friend for their number. "yep so you know im going to see a movie this weekend. im allowed to bring a friend.. you interested, hot stuff?" they'll most likely say yes, "awesome. can i have your number so i can text you the times and stuff?" and bam. friend's number in the bag.

in short:
privacy settings really dont help against hackers. stalkers, yeah. but hackers, no.
ask mom/dad for a phone if you dont have one.
