So, Halloween's main color is orange. Orange can be a hard color to work with. It really doesn't go with many colors, if you think about it. Purple and orange=ew. Pink and orange=awful.

Therefore, I decided to go for a more simple approach to Halloween, by sticking to black, orange, and white. Black and white go with anything, especially orange.

Simplicity can be a good thing, especially with Halloween, if you ask me. You don't want to go to over the top (except with costumes), because you don't want to be too tacky, right?

For my banner, I made this;;

Next, the background. For this, I didn't want to just use something simple. I tried to stick with the three main colors (black, white, and orange), however, it does have a little something 'extra' with the sparkles and such.

Okay, so then for the actual layout, here's what I have to recommend. I really think that, in general, we go over the top with colors. Like, really over the top. What we have to do is take a more subtle and calm approach, something easy on the eyes.

For the little strip of color behind the banner, I would just stick with white. We always put /another/ background behind the banner, but that just looks tacky. Use white, or maybe a grey.

Then, moving onto the chatbox. The background, in my opinion, should be white. The little strip at the top (where it says chatbox, it's currently a grayish blue color), would be orange (preferably f48337, so it matches the banner's color)--- and the text white.  The color surrounding the chat--- a light grey. You know how there's an alternation of colors when we type something?

Taylor: hi.. (the background is blue)
Jess: heyy (the background is purple)
To me, it should all just be white, unless you wanna alternate between white and a light cream color. The text should be black, imo.

Okay, so then for the forum itself. The background behind all the categories (it's currently a light blue color), should be, ya guessed it, white. The little strip of color (currently a darker blue) should be the same orange I mentioned in the chatbox;; f48337. Text should be black.

Finally, at the very bottom of our site, where we have "Who's Online?" and stuff, I think it should be white, lol.

Howeverrr, the background that sort of surrounds everything (it's a gray, right now), should be a light gray, imo (:


This was insanely hard to explain, sorry D: I wish I could explain it clearer.

I don't think this is over the top. It doesn't hurt my eyes for once, and the colors go nicely together, lol.

I'd say that, like, on some posts, it's a bright orange color. Maybe change the color to white??? And like Tim said, the mini-profiles are hard to see.. So change the color of posts... points.. reputation.. to orange instead so we can see it? But keep the actual stat black? o:

Yeah, I saw the mini-profile...but I didn't see anywhere to change that color. I changed the color on a few things I thought might be the mini-profile...but nothing happened. o-o Anyone know what it's called so I can change the color??

not really sure, sorry D: try changing all the text-options in the administration panel to something really bright. then check on a random post, see what color it is (example;; if you chose red.. then you'd go back to the administration panel and find whatever box you have red in and change it back to orange)?
